Our work parties this year (2010) are scheduled for the 3rd Saturday of the month, May through October. Meet before the Clay Slide Area at 9 am for each work party. Members and non-members alike are welcome to join us. Please bring rain gear, chain saws, high top boots, work gloves, any necessary tools along with food and water.

We are implementing an additional safeguard this year after each work party. Recent Hazardous Site Assessments have confirmed extremely high levels of heavy metals including arsenic, in the dirt. We are, therefore, encouraging work party volunteers and visitors to wash their boots and hands in the creek when leaving the town site area. Although there is arsenic also detected in the water, it is at a very low level. We have concluded that it is better to wash in this water than not to wash at all. We have posted signs to warn the public of this hazard.
